PLEASE PLEASE! DVD DVD DVD!

Sign here if you, like me, want the owners of QUARK to release it on DVD.

(Who do we have to ask, CBS? NBC?)

I found someone sharing them online, in public, and while i'd like to thank
them for their efforts, it was obviously a transfer from (dare i say it) old
Beta tape recordings, that have deteriorated over time.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - DON'T LET THE MEMORIES FADE!

All I have is fond memories of this show. Does it hold up? I'm on board with a DVD petition either way.

I'd buy a copy if released on DVD. I'd also hope for a bunch of extras. Interviews, screen tests, commercials for the show, maybe even a couple comentaries. Ahh hell, I'd buy it either way.

"I'd buy that for a dollar!"

I just saw it listed in a vintage TV news group and am going to check it out again after all these years. Honestly, I don't remember much about it, but I know I watched it. Those few years are a bit fuzzy. ;-)

Good luck getting a DVD released. I'd buy it. Really.

Consider my signature signed. I'd love to see this show again. We should petition Comedy Central, or Sci Fi channel to pick it up, or at least run a marathon.

That link is for a BOOTLEG and it doesn't even have all the episodes!

For those of you wanting to contact the rights-holder, that would be Columbia Pictures, which is now a subsidiary of Sony, I think.

The BAD news: Sony/Columbia (like Warner) is a "closed" shop, which means that if this has any chance of getting a release, it will ONLY be through the Sony/Columbia label. They do NOT sub-licence material to smaller studios (like BCI/Eclipse) who might be more willing to release such limited-run/limited appeal (or PERCEIVED limited appeal) materials.

Good news! I bought two copies of the long awaited "Quark" at my local Best Buy today for 14.99 each. Don't expect to see any fancy displays announcing the release. In fact, Circuit City and other Best Buys didn't even have them in stock. However, Best Buy and Circuit City have them available online. Than you to all who suggested the DVD release. See, sometimes they actually LISTEN to us! Or at least I'd like to think so!

Sincerely,

I just happened to see the complete series of "Quark" on DVD at Best Buy last night and bought it. Mainly because I like two of the actors in the series, Richard Benjamin and Tim Thomerson. To see such a rare show finally released on DVD is a real treat. I never saw the show when it was on TV back in 1977, so I salute Sony Pictures for releasing this rare comedy gem on DVD. ----- ----- Rusty

I need to rent the new release and see if it has the missing scene that the other releases seem to be missing.

I hate when they do that!!
