Which character was from Six Mile?

I vaguely recall that one of the Air Force characters was supposed to hail from Six Mile, South Carolina, a small town just north of where I was going to school at Clemson University at the time the show aired. Anybody remember which character it was?

It was Sgt Fitz that was from Six Mile.
