Question on Ending of One Episode

This question stems from a tv program that my husband and I watched last nite (12/18) on the History Channel, on the Bible and UFO's. My husband watched every episode of Project UFO, and the ending of one episode has vividly stuck in his memory. The end of the episode (he can't remember which episode) there is this elderly black woman, sitting on her porch. Her home is way out in the country. A UFO appears in the sky. She walks into her house, comes back out on the porch carrying a Bible. She holds her Bible up in the air. The UFO flies away rapidly. She just smiles and nods.

Most likely no one knows now that Jack Webb is dead.

Does anyone know what this is based on, or who was the writer of that particular episode?

blessings, Amar

As I recall, that was the very first episode, except that the woman was an elderly caucasian woman. The "alien", actually some sort of mechanical being, alights the space craft and the woman approaches it clutching a large Holy Bible and the "alien" raises its arms approximating Christ on the cross and some electrical bolts or lasar beams go from one "hand" to the other on the being. The woman stares at it with amazment and she thinks of it as having religious connotations. I do not remember much about the story other than the above scene.

The writer of that episode may be found on the IMBd. As I said, I am certain it is from the first episode.

It is based on a actual report (I believe that was the premise of this Jack Webb production)or a combination of reports with a similar theme. There is one story assembled into a book by Budd Hopkins that may be the source, "Intruders". But there is another story that is similar in tone but it took place in the city. I beleive that report can be found in a fine book called "Sightings".

I'm a Cinemajunkie !

I remember this episode. The Robot held up his arms in front of her and shot some type of lasers from on hand to the other.

The woman was elderly and she was clutching her bibel in her hands.

She was in her nightgown.

Later when she was explaining the story to the two guys from Project Blue Book.

She told them the alien/robot thing asked her if she was scared.

She told it "No I'm not scared" as she clutched her bibel in her sleep wear.

There was one other episode I remember with religious over tones.

I vaguely remember it.

I remeber a guy saw a UFO with his girlfriend, she ran away but he stayed
(They were in a snow coverd enviroment).

I remember in the end the project Blue Book guys came to question him about the encounter.

He was staying in some type of Monestary (s.p?).

A priest told the Blue Book/ Military guys that the man was very upset so he was given a home there.
Also the guy didn't want to talk to anyone.

Then as soon as the guys left. The priest walked into the chapel.

The guy who witnessed the ufo was sitting there looking at the priest.

He said to the priest "When Melissa (Or some womans name) saw the ufo, she ran away in fear".

Then he said "If only she would have understood". Then the guy looked at his hand and he had some kind of Tatoo/ mark type of thing.

Dear Amar, I remember an episode like that but it was a Caucasian woman standing outside a large Federal-style farmhouse in Virginia. The alien was a mechanical device that started out about as thin as a broom handle, then expanded into an android. She really was not afraid, she was holding a Bible, and felt this encounter had religious significance. That's about all I remember of the whole episode though. I do believe there was something with the lady near the end of the episode too. Hope this helped. Bill

Somebody posted this episode on Youtube and I must say wgranger, your memory was for the most part was right on. One interesting detail that you eithee missed or forgot is that when the robot folds back up it looks like a cross in the column of light coming out of the ship.

Yes, I do remember that now that you jogged my memory. What was that? 50 years ago. Why can't I remember what I did 4 hours ago?

Have you heard the joke about the "here after"?

“That may be true, but it is also irrelevant.”

I haven't heard the joke but what is irrelevant?
