This was Neil McCarthy's (Harry) last professional appearance, poignant.

I discovered 2 years ago that I am uniquely tied to Neil McCarthy.
I have never met him nor do I know anything about him, save what is available online.
I would greatly appreciate talking to anyone who knew him, friends, family, co-workers.
I would like to create an 'In Memoria' page for him, therefore I seek as much personal and professional information to do this sweetly gentle man justice.

In the case of "Escape", I do wonder if the writers, cast and crew knew that Neil had limited time left. "Escape" is a wonderfully, beautifully acted episode with many ironic and poignant moments. Peter Bowles (Archie) puts such heart-sorrowed emotions into some of his lines, and there are times, it seems to me, they all have a hard time keeping it together. Did they know?
Seeing the episode for the first time about a year ago, it left me with a feeling that Neil wanted to portray a vibrant, eagerly alive man, who was looking forward to a very long life. Did he know?
