One cross over they never tried----

Fonzie and Richie (mork keeps them looking the same somehow) get transported to 1970's Boulder Colorado bc Mork is lonely to see the friends he made the first time he visited Earth.

The Fonz is amazed how fast both cars--and women go in the 70's.

Both the Fonz and richie also are curious about the equipment called computers--which no longer take up a whole room. And the TV being in color. It had only been black and white in their era. VCRS (remember those!!) did not even exist. Things called microwaves cook food in a matter of minutes.

After figuring out where people go to 'hook up' we see the Fonz try 70's nightlife. Henry Winkler was actually a very good dancer (remember w Mrs. C) Am impressed he had his actual hair pinned up that many seasons of Happy Days while running around in scenes. Takes commitment and stamina. No idea if Winkler himself liked disco....but this show did do what was then current music several times and far more realistically than the later music for Happy Days.

Orson wants to personally meet the one known as the Fonz.... Orson has heard about this being and is in awe. Orson is genuinely in awe of very few if any beings---other than himself. He had tolerated Mindy but this is not actual awe.

The fonz himself is flattered he got to see both earth 1970's culture and the inside of Mork's head. It is a memorable experience for all.

Not sure how they would have filmed this. TV movie?

Maybe it would have been better than the fourth season of Mork and Mindy which had existed. Might have helped get a 5th season out of it.

Mork has to erase their memory once they come back from the 70's though--so they aren't taken away/they will think it's a dream.

* Richie who served in the army would be amazed the Russians haven't nuked them yet.
* Richie and Fonz are stunned by how loud rock n' roll has become.
* Changes in fashion etc

Maybe a two part ep?

It would have to be longer than two parts to develop details. But they had many airing options to work with.

Back then there were only 3 networks. Fox did not debut as a network until 1986 when this show was already off the air. People's choices re affordable viewing were limited. It was either the 3 networks or go out to the movies.

So they could either show it as four episodes (and put to be continued) from the very beginning.

Or film it first shot as a special multi-hour tv movie in order to hype the season but then consequently break it up into four episodes just for the reruns.

My gut feeling says they would do the later. TV movies and specials used to be a big deal.

They declined in popularity because there are now many more media options including online. People's attention span is now much harder for the market to obtain.

it would have been far more interesting than Mearth that's for sure

Lenny & Squiggy meeting Mork would have been pretty funny too. I can imagine them all just looking at each other like zoo exhibits!

A special movie length ep would have worked.

I never liked Mearth and the idea that Mork is going to grow into a baby that Mindy would have to care for in her elderly years always seemed really bleak.

Yeah that would have worked.

I didn't like Mearth either. He was Williams's favorite though so that's how/why he was cast. Not much room to say no to who the star of the show wants to cast. Kudos to Dawber etc for sticking it out during that last season.

I assume that they were always going to cancel the series well before Mindy became elderly/Mork was a baby (the series was never going to reach Simpsons etc status) for any number of reasons.

Yeah, Winters could have worked in the show but the Mearth concept was just terrible.

Pam probably enjoyed working on the show and figured it was the best she was going to get. She didn't do much of note afterwards.

True. I just find it to be a very sad addition to what was always just a silly show. Watching Mearth was also indicative of watching an elderly person degenerate with Alzheimer's.

Fonz, Herman Munster, Mork, Kojak.

They could be a crime fighting gang.

Garry Marshall owned/created both Happy Days and Mork -so did ABC.....that's what a cross over means. The very same network would have to air the same characters and shows to get money off of the public seeing it. They did not own the Munsters/Kojak.
