Can anyone help with the locations this mini-series was filmed at. What Stately Home was used for the Aspen's mansion and where were the countryside scenes filmed? I cannot find anything about this anywhere on the Internet, and on the recent DVD release no info is given.
Did you find the information of the filming locations for this wonderful series. I watch the original in the seventies and was mezmorised by the sory then. I've even still got the original soundtrack LP
Hi the country house in question is Foxhills, Ottershaw,Surrey ,UK,the former private residence is now a golf course, country club and restuarant, it was owned for a while by the Bank of Ireland and before that it was a private home of either an Austrailian or Irish meat marketing family(it could be the Vesty family, though not 100% sure. I used to live Ottershaw and have vivited Foxhills on many occassions and it really is a very beautiful estate regards JB
Do you know if the last scene in love for lydia was a real place or a studio?. I'd really like to know that if the veranda where they walk out on to in the snow was a real place and where is the field that they walk across in end as the titles start rolling.
I've recently purchased an old house in Irthlingborough and been reliably informed by a couple of locals that some street scenes are shot in the High Street of Irthlingborough. I'm going to get hold of a copy of the DVD to confirm.
Yes I managed to get that info out of the archivist at LWT (as was) as you will see in the 'Filming Locations' section for Love for Lydia on this site. It's probably worth checking ebay as you may be able to get the DVD set reasonably cheap now.
