I thought it rather boring after a while

I found it rather boring by the fifth, sixth, and seventh VCR tapes. There wasn't many changes-men chasing her, making money, losing money, etc.

I agree. I'm watching it at the moment, and just finished episode 8. It's much of the same all the time. Hopefully the story will develop a bit more in the final episodes.

I've only finished up to episode 4, and I'm done with her fashion fascination and all the kings, princes, artists, writers, and just about every powerful, influential man in Britain and beyond basking in the rapturous, incomparable beauty of Lillie Langtry. I'm also tired of Lillie's faux surprise and humility that all these famous and wealthy men want her, uhh, I mean to sketch and paint her. In her defense, Millais's painting "A Jersey Lily" does make her look to have been quite the beautiful woman.

But, just because all this happened in real life doesn't mean I have to watch episode after episode of the same routine. It's sort of against my habit and nature to not persevere, but I'm not going to finish this one. I don't feel bad for wasting the three episodes though. I only watched this when I visited my mom and she was taking a nap.

I will give it one begrudging kudo. Never before in a period drama have I seen something come even close to the probable truth of the matter that women didn't shave their armpits back then. I was shocked when I saw that scene that dragged on and on forever of Lillie pinning her hair up which put her armpit hair on full display. Every scene after that even when she was in a ballgown all I could think about was that she had armpit hair underneath the fancy frock.

To sum up, I bet if I finished it I would christen it the worst period drama I've personally seen, unseating He Knew He Was Right.
