Yes.
The beautiful main theme is called "David's song" and it composed by Vladimir Cosma. There was even a soundtrack which was released in France at the mid '90,
but its very hard to get it now.
Anyway, you can try to get it at Amazon France or Ebay under its French/Germen titles. Also, you will find it on the net under the format of MP3.

Hope I was helpful. Anyway, that is one of the greatest TV series I ever seen. I wish it will be on DVD one day.

This is the best version of "Kidnapped" I've seen and I've seen 'em all! And David McCallum, born in Scotland let's remember, does his character proud!

Yes, please, someone get something started that will convice TPTB to release this on DVD!!!!!

look up www.networkdvd.co.uk and under forthcoming releases they have kidnapped down to be released on january 15th 2007.as there is no cover art work available yet and its now the 4th,sadly it seems unlikely this deadline will be met.

I'm so disappointed- I just got in this web and the new dvd is not the 1978 version, but the 1971 one I do not understand why it is so hard to put it on dvd. thank you anyway.

reply

sorry for giving you a bum steer.if you look at networks catalogue they are a company that have made their reputation from releasing all the old itv/htv series from the 60's 70's and 80's.the sweeney,on the buses, man about the house, the saint, the bill and the like.when i saw kidnapped advertised i assumed it was the htv david mcCallum mini-series.when i posted the last message there was no cover art and the advertisement just said kidnapped.an understandable mistake perhaps?if its any consolation to you,i also am extremely disappointed that it is not the 1978 series but another re-release of the michael caine film from 1971 albeit with some further extras.i shouldn't have jumped to conclusions but i was so excited.still perhaps one day?

You did your best mate. for that,I should thank you. Ayway, I'm gonna write them a mail about our favorite version. I'll ask if there's gonna be any chance it will be on DVD in the next years. Hope to get some good news.

I was in Kidnapped land!!!! :-)Now my kids are 7 and 9 and I cannot wait to show this to them. Wonder if they will think of me as an old idiot for a mum ;-). I know my husband does :-)
