Why the name change?

I have one question concerning this tv-show. In season one the first three episodes the name of The two brothers Machahan were different. They were called Jed and Seth! so my question is, why did they change the names later to Luke and Josh?? Anyone know of any good explaination, please let me know so that this can stop buggin me..

There's no other explanation other than some idiot network executive made an arbitrary decision to change the characters' names.

I read somewhere that one reason was that the names Seth and Jed sound too similar to Zeb, so they wanted more different names to reduce the risk of hearing wrong.

Ah, that would make sense. Luke and Josh also sound nicer than Seth and Jed.
