Good luck getting this re-issued in the US

Ok. For years I tried getting this series (I almost finished seeing the series in spanish when I lived in Venezuela and left when only a handful was left to finish) and in the end I was able to download them a few months before they were finally released in DVD.

I have been asked by a lot of people about this series and where to get them in the U.S. The answer is simple:
You can't.
Not unless you import it, that is.
The reason? Not hard to figure out if you see it. The censorship in the U.S. and the conviction by the media and the government that they "know better" what's best for everyone means that a cartoon series that features little kids getting beaten repeatedly (it's NOT supposed to be nice) and the same kids later smoking what could very probably not be tobacco plus one of the kids being somewhat more than normally obsessed with alcohol will NEVER see the light of day.
This seems to be even worse if the cartoons are cute and if they're from some time ago, it would look like.

if it was released back in the 80s is would get censored. But today all sorts of anime remain uncut when brought to foreign viewing.

If this series ever does get it's own English version I'd picture a Box set with 3-4 Discs.

when i frst saw conan i was really taken a back by the violence, it mixed comedy and brutality very carefully, i don't think the series would work with it removed, otherwise it would be too breezy, it's definetly important to pointout the hardships, but since conan seems to have 'super' strength, it kind of balences out.

i could see it being released on dvd, it's just difficult to market to western audiences, it's too harsh for such young viewers but the use of young characters might put of older viewers, i didn't have a problem with it, i mean it's only slightly more strong in violence than castle in the sky. i doubt it will ever be on tv.

what i can't understand is why it's out on dvd in france but not the UK?

Same with why is "Little Norus Prince" in French but not in English?

do you mean dubbed or released?
cos it's out in the uk, but it's original lanugage, which suits me fine.

just find it funny that they didn't bother in dubbing it when distrubing it to an English speaking country while other anime get their own english dubs when sent to an english speaking country.
