William Russell/Bertrand Russell

There is a similarity between our William and real life Bertrand William Russell.

They are from the same era, they are both born into aristocracy and both revolt in radicalism. They both are for equal rights, for women aswell, our William mentions the suffrogettes. They are both good at maths.

Just a thought that occured whilst watching.

I have to make some research about Bertrand Russel to get an idea of who he was, but what you say sounds very interesting.

As for William in "Flambards", I always thought it was a shame that he never used his maths skills, or ever went to university. I know he loved flying, but still...

Not everyone went to university back then.

Not everyone does today either, but when it comes to William, he should have done it. Their tutor said so, and Christina talked to William about it, but he preferred to do other things. I just felt that he wasted his potential, especially since he died in the war.

Intelligence and purity.
