how many versions ARE there???

I saw this show the first time in 1980. I remember, with CRYSTAL CLARITY, the following scene:--------------------

(Imagine at the dialogue, much of it takes place in a thick south London cockney accent. "who" becomes "oo". "He" becomes "ee".)

Christina is talking to Mark who arrived back at Flambards the night before. Dick has already run off to his cottage. They are in the bedroom and Tizzy runs in and see's Mark and turns to his aunt Christina and asks---

Tizzy: "oo's ee?"
Christina:"He's your father".
Tizzy: "iz not. Dick's my father"
Christina: "No, Dick is your uncle. Run along now."

Tizzy takes one last look at Mark (whose jaw has hit the floor) and runs out. Mark looks at Christina. He is clearly speechless, confused. Finally he says to her -

Mark: "What did you say?" (comes out like "Wha* didjoo sigh?" (asterisk being the English glottal stop, at the letter "t")
Christina: "I told him you were his father". (pause while regarding Mark, who's jaw is hanging open) "Well you are, you know..."

Mark is stunned.---------------------------

Yet when I watched it again just recently, this was virtually GONE. What on Earth is going on?

Are you sure you're not recalling a different show, or perhaps cross referencing one show for another? I've seen the series many times and really don't recall this sequence.

Mark never spoke with a London accent.

Second, I've seen the series a zillion times and do not remember this scene the way you do.

hmm, its definitely in the version that i have... odd, maybe you just missed it. i'd tell you exactly where it is but my sisters currently have my copy.

i think it's followed by christina saying that tizzy gets very confused and "yesterday he asked if fowler was my husband," though that may be a different scene...

if it helps i have the DVD set with this cover:

I recall a similar scene but don't remember that it was being played out in the way the OP stated.

I haven't seen it in a while but what I recall is Mark going into his old bedroom and finding Tizzy. They introduce themselves and Tizzy says something like, this is Uncle Mark's room. Christina enters the room then and responds this is uncle Mark. There is further small talk about Mark killing Germans and Christina says Tizzy is his son. Tizzy comments Uncle Dick is his father as he is leaving. When they are alone Christina confirms to Mark he is the father and Violet is Tizzy's mother.
