REMAKE?

Does anyone know if they will make a remake of this series, I am thinking of writing to some producers, to see what they think....

Let me know what you all think...

Why would they do a remake? It's good the way it is.

Yes, it's true! IMDB has reached Sweden!

reply

Well, what with the remake of Brideshead Revisited which the TV series was more recent than Flambards it would be pretty cool if a film version came out...

War Horse is back!

reply

especially because the other does not include Flambards Divided

I couldn't stand Flambards Divided, and I think it was written solely to cash in on the success of the series, so I would hope that it's not included.

I didn't see the remake of Brideshead Revisited, as I was horrified to read about what they did to the plot. I was and still am in love with the miniseries, and with the miniseries for Flambards. They were both very true to the books, and both take the time to really develop the characters. Since miniseries aren't as popular any more, I would be worried that a remake of Flambards would do what I heard the remake of Brideshead did--compress far too much information into a few hours of film and take far too many liberties with the storyline to do so.

I HOPE they make a remake. I'm sorry, I enjoyed the books immensely and the miniseries is pretty good as well, but uggggh the music is awful and some of the camera work is beyond amateur looking. I think they could make a more engaging and less kitchsy version of this (really, some of the camera work, acting and music cues made me cringe with their lack of subtlety), hopefully while making William seem more likable as well. He really came off poorly in the miniseries.

reply

The camera work was one of the hallmarks of the series. When the show premiered the press words like "luxurious" and "sumptious". The recent 2011 BFS rerelease is much superior to the previous that was originally on VHS tape then digitised to dvd. They seem to have found better print material for the rerelease. Nothing wrong with the camerawork, it's that viewers nowadays are used to too much camera movement and cgi effects.

reply

What exactly did you find wrong with the camera work?

I just watched half of the series and I see nothing wrong. I see well filmed action and well lit rooms.

reply

I will love if they make a remake...

Some reasons are: widescreen, high definition and a better soundtrack.

reply

probably they would just add what the original lacked, WW1 war footage, mostly done in CGI...perhaps we would witness Wills death, Dick's wounding, and Mark's capture..

or not...since that would blow the 'surprise" of Dick's and Mark's returns, wouldn't it..

reply

reply

No. Leave the classics ALONE!
