Amusement Park/Rock Stars episode from Season 2 tidbits

I just watched this episode and the guests arrived by hot air balloon rather than the usual plane. It was mostly a child star episode too with Scott Baio, his brother Jimmy, Jill Whelan aka Vicki from the Love Boat and Keith Coogan as the kids in the rock star segment. The other segment had Ted Lange ,Love Boat's Isaac as the dad of one of the kids in the amusement park episode.

The rock star segment is of particular interest in that the plot is an eerie premonition to what happened to the group Milli Vanilli 10 years later. The differences being that the kids end up fessing up to a music producer during an audition that they are lip synching to the songs they wrote and he offers them a song writing contract for a real artist whereas Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan of Milli Vanilli went along with the charade and were exposed as frauds.

So, a thought crossed your mind? Must have been a long and lonely journey

Very interesting observations! Thank you for posting! I never thought of the Milli Vanilli angle - I never thought of that. I did feel bad for Rob and Fab - I mean when you heard their side of it, they were really victims too - and one of them committed suicide over it. I guess it's a way to show that the music business, whether real or fictional, can be a dirty business.
