Why didn't the "Dallas" finale have a bigger impact?

A cynical parody of "It's a Wonderful Life", Joel Grey as a tuxedo-clad demon with glowing red eyes, an ambiguous ending with an unresolved gunshot - pretty heady stuff. Yet nobody ever talks of it; in contrast to "Who Shot J.R.?" and Bobby under the shower, it has left zero trace in the pop-cultural memory.

BECAUSE THE SHOW HAD BEEN ON TOO FUCKIN' LONG!!!

Probably because the final season sucked. Only JR, Bobby and Cliff were left.

Would have liked to know what became of Pam without JR.
