Leaden film

Unfortunate adaptation which should be re-made today. Leaden direction, script and a host of just mediocre actors torpedo this production. Coburn is well cast, as is Miller. The casting of Gabrielle Leggett was unfortunate; moreover, the script refers to her compelling eyes "green to brown" and the actress clearly has light blue eyes. Oh well, better luck next time.

I agree that Coburn was miles ahead of the rest, but I thought the supporting cast was pretty good, too. The people at least looked different which is rare these days.

I'm curious, did you find the first half better than the second? The plot did bog down a lot towards the end. Almost like two different movies.

Anyway, I've always liked it. The atmosphere was so good for a made for tv movie and I liked most of the supporting cast.

Plus it has Mr. Data!

The third episode wanted to really make us feel what it was like to fight addiction. Not that pleasant, of course.

I agree it felt kind of leaden, like some British show they would play on PBS. But sometimes I feel like watching that kind of stuff.
