Experiment in Terra thoughts

Just watched this one this morning:

First off, I have to say Flash! AH AAAAAAHHHH!!! My wife recognized Melody Anderson from Flash Gordon.

Second, John DeLancie was the guard who confronted Starbuck at his Viper. Couldn't miss the voice.

Finally, The General was in the TV show Fame. I couldn't believe I remembered that.

This whole Terra/Eastern Alliance thread was then dropped. Seems like a big loose end to leave hanging. Does anyone know if they would have appeared again?

I wish they would have left in the edited scenes. It would have made the episode so much better and more coherent.

The sun rose and set pretty quickly on Terra. Apollo was talking to the Presidium during the day, while Starbuck and Belinda were driving to his Viper at night.

Starbuck is pretty good, stunning 9 guys with 4 shots. LOL! I can't believe they did that and got away with it. I mean this is Stormtrooper level bad.

Finally, what in the heck is that weapon the Galactica shoots at Terra? It looks like they shot as big laser grid over the planet. WTF?

Thoughts?

The weapon the Galactica shoots at Terra? It's called a plot gimmick for this one episode, that the disorganized writers made up, while forgetting that this weapon would've been a big help to the Colonials in fending off the Cylons all those yahrens.

Those other points -- again, bad writing.

And when Starbuck returned to his viper later on, the Stormtroopers were gone? Where did they go? And when they awoke, wouldn't they have called for reinforcements and confiscated the viper, this strange advanced machine they've never seen before?

John was also Devon in the show Knight Rider.

Apollo swears in this episode. He says "Felgercarb!"

A few elements of this episode reminds me of the show Quantum Leap. Incidently, this episode has Donald Bellisario listed as Producer (I think). He went on to create Quantum Leap.

I'll have to watch it again. It seemed to be some kind of force field, but if so, why not put one around the ship when needed ?
