Any good BSG novels?

I know they novelized some of the original episodes (a common practice at the time), and I know Richard Hatch has "co-written" several. But can anyone recommend any good BSG novels (focusing on TOS, not the recent re-boot)? Thanks!

I've read the first two Richard Hatch books and they are okay. The story jumps twenty or so years in the future, Apollo is the leader, Adama having died. Apollo is the center of the story (not surprising since Hatch influenced the story,) but the supporting characters are still around and get some things to do. If you enjoyed the original series, you will probably like these, nothing too groundbreaking or original, but entertaining in a nostalgic kind of way, like catching up with old friends from High School.

Great. Thank you for the answer.

Those Hatch books are the ones I came across first in my library's catalog. Seems like there's really not much in the way of BSG expanded universe; at least as it relates to the classic series.

My bar for it really isn't very high. Just something that sort of captures the spirit of TOS.

Thank you again!

Reserved Hatch's BSG: Armageddon at the library and picked it up yesterday. Still have to finish the novel I'm currently reading (Star Wars: Bloodline), but looking forward to catching up on some adventures with the crew of the Galactica.

Wasn't there a comic book series for the original show? I seem to remember seeing them back in the day, but I never looked to see if they went beyond the series or were just adaptations of what aired.

Yeah, Marvel had a BSG comic that ran concurrent to the TV series (and even outlasted it). I believe the stories were original and not simply adaptations of episodes, but I don't think they've ever done a compendium or TPB collection of them. I know there've been some other BSG comics produced over the years set in the timeline of the classic series.

I've read that the Marvel run really wasn't that great, but I've come across them on eBay and I absolutely love the Marvel artwork from that era. Takes me back to those days of stopping by 7-11 for a Slurpee and an armful of comics.
