Question about where the Vipers take off from?

So they launch from those launch tubes / tunnels but never quite show us where on the ship they are do they? Do they launch from the front of the landing bay?

reply

There are a series of launch tubes on the port side of the port landing bay, and the starboard side of the starboard landing bay. The vipers launch from these tubes.

reply

Actually they do show them. Repeatedly.

Also... All you have to do is google GALACTICA LAUNCH TUBES, and select images to see photos and screen shots from both series, as well as models, digrams, CGI etc... even cutaway plans, showing the locations of the launch tubes.

I joined the Navy to see the world, only to discover the world is 2/3 water!

reply

They show them repeatedly but not from an angle where you can see exactly where they're launching from.

reply

That's because it helped keep the special effects budget down.

reply

They launch out of the sides of each landing bay. Larger craft, such as the shuttles launch out of the back of each landing bay (same location where the Vipers land).

If you look closely whenever a Viper lands, and as they approach the landing bay, you can see Vipers lined up along the sides.

I loved the way the pilots were thrown back in their seats when the Vipers were launched.
