If I remember correctly, it was never explained what happened to her....what are some theorys? I think she was kidnapped by Native Americans and raised as one of their own.

I believe she was supposed to have been taken by some Indians in the movie. In the book Sayward reunites with her briefly and she had been taken by Indians.
