Improvised?

Was some of this movie improvised? It seems like the actors are improvising furing much of the film, particularly the conversations with Didi Conn and Michael Zaslow.

It seems very improvised to me, both the scenes with Didi and Michael and the scenes with Didi and Joe Silver. I think the plot, such as it is, was largely improvised also.

I have to hand it to this film: It's not conventional. I thought this was going to be a romance, but it's really a story about a young singer finding confidence in herself after a one-night stand. She doesn't even fall in love with the guy, so the title and poster are misleading. The lighting up of her life appears to be a reference to the song, as well as the inspiration to move on.

Not a very good film by any means, but decent performances by all, and good lip-syncing by Didi both of Debbie Boone's hit and the far-superior Kasey Cisyk version.
