About that so called 'sleazy' assistant...

I just heard about this mess today! She is my ex-wife! We were together 5 years from 87-92, she was miss wee california 1973 and had singing and acting talent herself. (starring as Dorothy in the prestigious San Diego local venue "The Old Globe Theatre's" production of Wizard of Oz when she was 16) I kicked her to the curb when she had a fling with a local bar pianist/composer a year after our daughter was born and refused to seek marital counseling with me. I wasn't raised like that and she didn't see the problem with "professional relationships" that seem to mirror what Mr. Brooks is alleged to have perpetrated. Rather than throw her under the bus however, and given her own aspirations of musical stardom never being truly fulfilled, it's quite possible Brooks also had her in his clutches in a predatory way. Who knows. Did she really know what he was doing to these women? It's claimed by the prosecution yet unclear to me.
As for Mr. Brooks let's remember these alleged crimes took place from 2005-2008, and it is reported he suffered a stroke in 2008- always a life changing, or life robbing experience. I doubt the gaunt, slight figure we see in the arrest photos resembles the man several victims were confronted by just months or years earlier.
A stroke will change you that much. This may work against Shawni as by the time he's brought to trial, if he's deteriorated even more, he'll be hard to portray as a monster and her as a dupe.
