I took my first real date to this movie.

Guess what her name was?

Debbie! lol.

She was in college, I was too young to drive.
She was 19, and poor Debbie had no idea I was 15 when she agreed to go to the movie with me.
We took the free bus down to the "Town" theater.
Being 15, I of course make a complete fool of myself, a gentleman mind you, but young and stupid.

She declined a second date, (big surprise huh?) and I'm sure her parents would have objected to her dating a freshman in high school.
But I have to say, though being caught off-guard about my age, she still went to the movie with me and was very nice the whole time. Many would have left the 15 year old that thought he could date a college girl standing at the bus stop.

But not Debbie. She had too big of a heart to do that.

On the billion to one chance she should ever read this.....

Debbie, I just want to say that you were very sweet, and thanks for not embarrassing me lol, and jsyk you are to this day, the prettiest girl I ever went on a date with.
I hope life has treated you well.

Awwwww, that is so nice!!!! (And I'm not Debbie)

I'm surprised that no one ever replied to this post, seeing how sweet the OP is.

I do no harm, I keep to myself; there's nothing wrong with my state of mental health.

Thanks, but all I did was tell the truth, lol.

You're surprised no one replied, I'm kinda surprised someone did!
This movie gets dis'ed A LOT.

On the other hand, I don't think I paid much attention to it at the time. <<--Me Then.
So maybe it wasn't all that great. But I'll always have a soft spot for it.
( And Debbie )
Cheers

OMG--are you ME???

I also took a girl out to see this as my first ever real date, and her name was Debbie. Whoa...

My circumstances were a bit different, though. I was 16 and she was 14. I had just gotten my driver's license, so it was the first chance I'd ever had to go pick up a date and take her to a movie. Turns out she lived on an Air Force Base, so I not only had to meet her parents, but they had to be contacted by the main gate to afford me a pass to get on base!

We saw this film at the State Theater in Marysville, CA (I think that theater is gone now). We walked around holding hands for a bit after the movie, and I think we got an ice cream. Then we kissed, and for my very first "date kiss" it was pretty awesome. She was a great kisser, and she wore grape lip gloss--I've been fond of that flavor my whole life!

Then the fairy tale imploded. I took a razzing from my "friends" afterward because I was a junior and she was a freshman. They said I was "robbing the cradle" (I think they were just jealous--she was quite pretty). So out of insecurity and need for peer acceptance, I never called her again. I hardly ever even said "Hi" to her in the halls after that. In looking back, it was clearly not one of my finer moments.

So on the trillion-to-one chance she should ever read this...Debbie, the date was lovely, you were lovely...and I was a jerk. I hope you went on to find someone more worthy of you, and that you have had a wonderful life.

This is so sweet! It would take a very big heart to post this in a public spot. I think Debbie missed the boat. I hope you eventually found your soul mate, and life has been good to YOU.
