Excellent storytelling and beautiful artwork lowered by low budget.

Here's a film that shouldn't be remade, but remastered! It's just too bad George Lucas completely ruined going back and fixing films because he made his worse but really, here is an open and shut case of a film that lacked the budget to do what it should have. It's like a working-print the way it is now. Like, here's some *beep* that looks way out of place, we'll fix it later.

You couldn't re-make this film, you couldn't capture the magic of the time it was made and the people who made it. Some of the backgrounds are just BEAUTIFUL, the part where they're leaving to go on their quest for example.

It could have been better. When I first saw how the artwork really is and not like the Ploog painting for the movie, I was very disappointed. The story line is interesting but the design art work itself is not happy about it.

What you see is not necessarily what you get,

Why even bring up the word "remake" in a thread here? Isn't there enough of that going around on these boards? I know you are not calling for one like so many ignorant imbecile's out there, but why even bring it up?

Please enjoy the original classic the way it is, people. Remake should never be a part of our vocabulary while discussing movies, unless you are rightfully condemning the practice.

I found the art direction to be mostly great, but there some stuff in it, that are just terrible. The rotoscoping used in some segments looks pretty terrible.

As for the story, it was interesting, but the way it flowed was pretty ackward in some places. This is a film, that could have benefitted from a couple of extra minutes.
