I know what you mean. Compare this to Chikyu Boueigun from 1957, and you would never know that twenty friggin years separate the two films. It's no wonder no
one knows about this film, because even diehard Toho fans like myself can see that
no innovation whatsoever appears to have been attempted here. Sets look re-used, the the main ship is just the Gotengo from an earlier film (Atragon in the U.S.) with new additions. I need to watch Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris just to get this crap out of my head.
On another note, the revolver system was the one good idea to be implemented. As
soon as you saw it open up you new serious business was coming.
