Does Anyone Know Why Irwin Allen is Uncredited?

Did he have his name taken off the credits because he thought it was awful? He must have thought it was appalling if that was the case, judging by some of the projects he's been associated with. He was one of only five people to win the Worst Career Achievement Award at the Golden Raspberry Awards.

No...he was not to be credited because he was lending his support, not producing the movie regardless of whether or not it was going to become a celluloid turkey. The producer, Sherrill Corwin, is one of the backers who supplied Irwin with the 2.5 million dollars needed to match 20th Century-Fox's 2.5 mil to get "The Poseidon Adventure" completed.
