Extended (Extended) Version **SPOILERS**

I have the 134 min version on DVD, however I've just read the plot on wikipedia and my version seems to have a bit missing.

In the ending, Steven shoots the Tintorera and it then hits him. The shark turns over and floats to the bottom (dead) and then you see Steven's torch on the sea bed and it fades to red. The shot of Miguel, Steven and Gabriella is then show and then it says Directed by Rene Cardona Jr.

On wikipedia it says after the shark dies, Steven wakes up in a hospital bed without an arm. Has anyone seen this? Or is the wiki editor being a noob?

In the American version, they move footage of him waking up in a hospital in Houston to the end, so it's like he wakes up after his battle with the shark.

in the netflix version it fades to red like you said. the credits then roll with the trio at some sort of mexican mayan temple taking photos... has anyone seen this version? what am I missing?

When Tintorera was released in theaters and on VHS in America, they completely re-edited the beginning, and changed the ending to make it seem like he survived the attack. Then the credits roll over a scene from the middle of the film with them taking pics at the Aztec temple.

When the film was put on DVD, it was taken from the original 134 minute version, with the original ending.

Tintorera(1977) is worth seeing if you want to see Andres Garcia's hairy cheeks!

Yeah, I pretty much lost my virginity to Tintorera, so I know all about those cheeks. I highly recommend it to anyone.
