The Tarantulas in this movie.

None of the tarantulas in this film are dangerous or look aggressive in any way.

Most of them are the Mexican Redknee tarantula

or these kind...

All about tarantulas here at this Wikipedia link:

The tarantulas that the characters are actually referring to in the movie are actually the Brazilian wondering spider (the ones that hide in banana crates or coffee crates) and whom can kill with one bite. They are not actual tarantulas but they have the appearance of them.

True what you say. But sometimes it's all in the name.

Because if the movie was called: "Banana Spiders!" it would have sounded silly.

But Tarantula has a more ominous sound to it.

After all that's why everyone refers to Dr. Frankenstein's creation by the same name as his creator...it's got the right ring of ominousness to it.

Oh well. I still enjoy the movie either way even if it may not be entirely scientifically accurate.

SpiderMan was another movie that portrayed spiders as non scientifically accurate. In that one, there is a radioactive one that bites a teen and gives him superpowers as a result
