Summerfield (1977)Ken Hannam

I would like to see this film, It was shown on TV 8/9 years ago in England. The film was shown earlier than scheduled preventing us from recording the whole of it, I have only seen the first 10 minutes and for those ten minutes I was gripped by it. I would like to know where I can obtain a copy of this film.

Scroll down to The Collections.

It'll probably cost you though. Going to cost me $20.50 just to go there and watch their VHS copy.

I am trying to obtain this film but being in the UK getting a copy from Screensound is problematic and very costly.

Do you know anywhere else I can obtain a copy from. I can obtain copyright approval for someone to giove me a copy if necessary. Personally I thought it was a great film particularly the twist at the end.

Hi pippymac,

Thanks for your message.
I am also in the UK, I received similar information from Screensound via an e-mail dated 24/02/2005, a second e-mail dated 27/02/2005 informed me that SUMMERFIELD was due to be released in the near future by AV Channel (Australia), an order can be placed at the National film and Sound Archive's shop: http://[email protected] or contact the AV Channel: http://www.madmancinema.com.au

Summerfield has been released on DVD now and can be purchased at all DVD sellers. If you want to purchase online I recommend www.ezydvd.com.au - I have been buying from them for years and they ship overseas.

First make sure, if you are overseas, that your dvd player is region free or multi region - so as to ensure you can play Aussie dvds.

The Australian release DVD (Umbrella Entertainment) is ALL region ( and PAL).

It has a long soul-searching documentary as an extra

Absolutely! Much ado about not much at all IMO!

The 70's Phillip Island locations are kind of neat.

Cliff Green had already distinguished himself with "Marion" starring
the luminous Helen Morse. What I remember most about Summerfield was
the cinematography. It was simply beautiful. Nick Tate was a standout
as was Elizabeth Alexander but the real surprise was Michelle Jarman.
She brought a maturity to the role that was remarkable. I saw her in a
few television commercials after that but then she just dispappeared.

It's on ABC (Sydney) right now!
