shareIt slips my mind what the documentary is was called, i'm sure someone will know the title of it around here. It was about marijuana in film and dated back as far as the Charlie Chaplin to The Marx Brothers. It then goes through the history of how it went from something innocent & cool into something frowned upon by parents and yuppies. In that Documentary it shows many films of which is considered stoner comedies.
I can't remember off the top of my head many of the titles. I know Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) was mentioned.
yeah, that's not a pothead comedy because it was not intentionally comedic (if you are in fact referring to "reefer madness".)
