Unrealistic

I have studied Pelicans and the spread of Trachia for the past 30
years, and I have to say that this movie was extremely unrealistic!
There were no scenes of extreme violence of Pelican and Man fighting
for the last chip, no lunches being stolen, no deaths, no evil smirking
pelicans.

They didn't delve into the nit factor - for example - Pelicans have a
lot of nits, which is why a young boy shouldn't befriend such an
animal. It also increases his chances of contracting Trachia - which we
all know has no cure.

The beach scenes were nice and relaxing, which kept me on edge as I kept expecting a killer pelican to lurch out of the shadows and steal someones lunch.

Overall they did portray the Pelican's level of intellegence quite correctly, this particular Pelican i'm sure could have obtained a trachia degree at any local universities, but he looked like he had a lot of nits - which would have had to have been sorted out before graduation... as the NITS equals NO CERTIFICATE rule has been enforced in all my time as a Professor of Pelican.

I remember watching a nature programme not long ago where a Lioness befriended a baby gazelle and hanged out with it and never attacked it (eventually, another lion killed the gazelle). It was really touching. My point is that maybe it is possible that a Pelican can form a friendship with a child if it senses the child isn't going to harm it?????

About the rest being unrealistic etc, well I suppose if you are a pelican expert it would get up your nose. However I love this film, so I'll turn a blind eye to the inaccuracies. Considering I saw it so many years ago when I was a child I still remember it with fondness. Mr Percival rocked.

I quite agree. Mr. Percival rocked.

Pelicans should be shown for what they really are, raging machines of death.

As a victim of random attacks from rabid geese I sympathise with you. . . . (but I also love Mr Percival)

lol

Funny how after all these years I still remember this film and the name of the pelican.....which says a lot about the film, imo.

That photo was done without special effects. So it's obvious that maybe the OP doesn't understand that pelican's can be very clever and easy to train.

I don't think the OP was actually being serious.

I agree; Mr Percival does rock!
