Still wish I had my old vhs of this...

Anyone know if there are sites with the 'original' viewing of Star Wars 1977?
Or any place online to buy a copy?
I cringe at the newer versions and it totally ruins the experience,
so I haven't watched it in years,
but want to so badly.

I remember when this was the only Star Wars,
I didn't care much for Empire or Jedi either.
Yoda ruined it for me too.

I bought the original version on dvd a number of years ago. Its probably still out there somewhere.

There is that 2004 or 2006 DVD. Which is pretty crappy quality though. You can download the Despecialized Edition, which really isn't that hard. It's worth watching.

Since Star Wars is almost 40 years old, maybe Disney will release the unaltered versions on Blu-Ray. But then again, legal problems with Lucas just might ensure.

I bought the '91 VHS box set for $20 a month ago st s discount bookstore. But you can find it on ebay or the '95 THX versions on there as well. Or download the despecialized versions as someone else has mentioned. They are great!

You can also quite readily find the VHS releases at thrift stores for a few bucks. I bought that box set Fawkes_Rocks mentioned for like $3.00 a few years ago (strictly for the collectability, as it as still shrink-wrapped). But as poor as the quality is on that '06 DVD release, anything beats watching movies on VHS.
