Profanity?

According to the IMDb Parents Guide, the word "b---h" is used in A New Hope. I've seen this film about a million times since it was released in the theatres...maybe I'm just desensitized or something. Star Wars dialogue is like running water to me...I just take it for granted. Is the B word actually in this movie?

reply

I can't say i remember it, and like you, i can quote most of the dialogue. It's possible it's simply incorrect.

"He's dusted, busted and disgusted, but he's ok"

reply

That's gotta be wrong. I've seen SW in the hundreds of times, and the closest it comes to that word is Bantha .

The only instance I can think of that's even remotely close is Han's "Damned fool, I knew you were going to say that.", but come on!

reply

Uh-Uh, this thing was cleaner than a Disney film (apart from severed arms and choking people).

Lucas hasn't really been much for cursing in any of his films, really.

Fortunately, Ah keep mah feathers numbered for just such an emergency!

reply

Probably at the end when Luke says "Blast it Biggs Where are you?"

Always sounded like BITCH to me

reply

It was R2-D2. He was so foul, they bleeped all of his dialog. Even 3PO says at one point, "You watch your language".

reply

Lmfao at that. Yeah there is no telling what R2 is saying and cursing ha ha

I'm pretty sure Luke called Aunt Beru a bitch near the beginning.

IMDB content was user-submitted for a long time (I don't know about now), so I consider it about as reliable as wikipedia for these details.
