Squeaky

Finally got a copy - unfortunately not that impressed. An okay film but nowhere near as considered, detailed or impressive as Get Carter or Long Good Friday. It sits amongst the nearly films for me, like Villain or All Coppers.

There seemed to be a bet on who could pull off the worst regional accent by at least two of the stars - never understood the reasoning behind hiring actors that struggle with a particular accent - its the least you want from a portrayal i.e. a realism that allows you to believe in the character.

And for such a stellar cast nothing much really happens.

Great footage, great feel of the time it was filmed and some good old fashioned 70s nastiness but sadly it all falls a bit flat - def worth watching though.
