James Bond is cold blooded in this movie

Bond shoots Stromberg in the dick twice, then executes him. That's about as cold blooded as it gets.

I don't think it was cold blooded, considering the circumstances. Stromberg had literally fired two nukes in anger at civilian targets, trying to start a larger catastrophe. He had just tried to kill Bond, as he had killed others, with a treacherous booby trap device in his lair. He had XXX in captivity, and would probably have eventually murdered her, perhaps sadistically.

Bond was right to neutralize such dangerous person as soon as he had the chance.

People forget that Roger Moore could be cold blooded sometimes and often just think of the humor he did.

Look at the way he just knocks the guy off the roof and says "What an helpful chap" while he straightens his tie. Classic.

Or the guy in Live and Let Die in the boat. He blinds the guy with fuel and then makes sure he blows up for extra measure 

It's an oldie where I come from

It's a joke - the weapon under the table is turned against Stromberg.

reply

he also throws that big guy off the roof with no remorse

For all the humor and light hearted moments in the Moore era of Bond films, Roger Moore's Bond could really be pretty ruthless.

Stromberg was a dick anyway. After dispensing with his PA he blows up 2 scientists and the helicopter pilot. Who the hell would want to work for this guy? Talk about health and safety issues at the work place. LOL

I find it funny that people were surprised that Roger Moore's Bond could display a vicious, cold blooded streak in For Your Eyes Only (namely the infamous scene where he causally kicks the bad guy's car off of the cliff) when he displayed of a mean streak in The Spy Who Loved Me.
