What part did Michael Billington play?

Who was Sergei Barsov? For those who don't know, Michael Billington co-starred in the TV series called "UFO". (1970–1973). Billington had leading-man looks and I'm surprised he got such a small role, I don't remember seeing him the film. I have seen the movie a dozen times and I'm just noticing he was in the film by reading the cast here on imdb.com. I think he would be a good replacement if Roger Moore couldn't continue to fill the part of James Bond. a waste of talent.

He was the Soviet agent who was in bed with XXX at the beginning, then pursued Bond on skis and was shot by him.

In the DVD commentary they talk about him, and his almost-Bond status.

I remember him playing Col.Paul Foster on the TV series UFO.
