Was Lee Grant always such a bad actress?!

She is terrible in this film! I really liked her acting in "Damien Omen II", so was glad to see her in this film.
But she didn't work in this role.

"I'd say this cloud is Cumulo Nimbus."
"Didn't he discover America?"
"Penfold, shush."

I thought she was really good!

I did too. I thought she played a very realistic, sympathetic mother to a difficult daughter. She was also very strong at the end. The only thing I disagreed with was I thought it was unrealistic that she would keep her sack-of-sh*t, insensitive husband around. He was utter slime to their eldest daughter. Yet she was still sexually attracted to him and she defended his conduct to her long-suffering daughter. She walked a fine line well, but I (like a lot of viewers) wish something seriously harsh happened to the father in the middle or at least the end of the movie. Divorce at the very least.

Lee grant is such a good actress (in my opinion) she even makes a terrible film
worth watching. (Remember "Visiting Hours?")

reply

Visiting Hours was good. She did a real POS with Carol Kane. That one was better off forgotten.

I have to admit, I thought she was fantastic.

She brought gravitas to the film.
