Casting

So, am I the only one who wasn't too thrilled with Roy Scheiders casting here? Don't get me wrong, he is a terrific actor and I liked his performances in Jaws and French Connection. But here, he just doesn't come across as tough enough. I don't know, he doesn't fully work for me.

Friedman originally wanted Steve McQueen for this role and quite frankly I think he would have worked better here. Just my thoughts, still a terrific movie, though.
