Question about the scene with Susan, Guus and Erik (spoiler)

I'm referring to the scene where Guus and Erik were guessing how many fingers Susan was holding out to determine which of them would carry out the most dangerous part of the mission. I wonder why Susan added a finger, allowing Guus to win, even though Erik guessed the correct number first. Did she simply like Guus better and want him to be decorated, or did she think he had a better chance of success? Or was it something else?

Maybe she wanted Erik and sending Guus off on a dangerous mission would be the best way to get with him?

She loved Erik, seen as she ended up with him at the films end, she even helped Erik get into the RAF even with his bad eye problems. Even after sleeping with Guus, she was never in love with him and happily let him go to keep Eric safe.
