What is a Diablo sandwich?!!

First, let me say that I first saw SATB around late 1979 or early 1980 on a laserdisc (remember those in the box?!) in a department store. And along with "Superman: The Movie" it was my all-time favorite movie back then. I was 14 years old. One of the MANY reasons I love the legendary Burt Reynolds.

Anyway, I just ordered a T-Shirt from a company called TeeChip that has a "Diablo sandwich and a Dr. Pepper" on it! Hilarious! I found out about it through notifications I receive from them on Facebook. They make the BEST movie T-Shirts!

So now would be an appropriate time to get feedback from my fellow Burt Reynolds/Smokey fans as to WHAT IS IN A DIABLO SANDWICH?!!

A Sloppy Joe with the usual spices replaced with hotter spices, such as jalapeños, depending on where you get it.

Loose meat - would be minced beef - the raw material for hamburgers and the like. Sloppy Joe sauces are a similar makeup.

Basically street food.
