The song that plays during the opening credits is "Don't Look Back" by Murray Grindlay, which was released as a single in New Zealand. A soundtrack album also exists but good luck tracking down a copy of either item.

I can still remember the words to the part of the song they played in this film even though it's been years since I last saw it.

Drop me a line if you find you the time and let me know how you're doing now.
And maybe some day we might just meet up again though I don't think so somehow.
Time will take care of this whole damn affair. Oh I'm so down in the mouth.
You went your way. Baby I will go mine like a freebird heading south.

Don't look back oh don't you turn around.
Don't look back, It will only bring you down.
Though your heart may be broke in two.
Don't look back. It will only depress you.

I would love to find the soundtrack to this film also but it's hard enough trying to find the film itself. Please let me know if you find it.
