This movie needed a cameo by a real hockey player

Bobby Hull for instance.

There were real hockey players in it you DOPE. Just not stars and that’s what gave it its real life ambiance.

reply

real as in a NHL player moron. don't tell me about hockey.

reply

Nope, the movie worked beautifully as is. Thank god you have zero creative control over anything because you would just masturbate over anything you do. Yeah, throw some NHL stars in the move, now it has no real feel to the story you DOLT. Go watch Youngblood if you need to be star struck.

the movie was based on the philadelphia flyers of the 1970s. Dave Schultz would have been perfect as one of the players.

reply

Again, too well known. Wouldn’t work. And where did you hear it was based on the flyers. I was informed it was on another minor league club

reply

Movie is not based on the flyers , it’s based on the east coast hockey league and many of the extras in the movie and the Hanson brothers were players in that league.
The Charlestown Chiefs are really the Johnstown Jets .
The writer Nancy Dowd wrote the movie because her Brother was a player in the league and told her all the stories from the team.
