I think a lot of people overlook this movie when they think of Paul Newman, but it's still a classic.

The guy made so many good films and this was certainly one of them. I loved it the very 1st time I seen it and its still as funny and great to watch all these years later.

Thanks Paul-you'll be sorely missed mate!

Reggie Dunlap was my personal favorite Paul Newman character. R.I.P. both Paul and Reggie. Sincerest condelences to Joanne Woodward and family. The hockey team of more than 30 years ago, which included the Hanson brothers, are mourning their favorite player-coach.

All of these movie clip tribute montages on television are seriously lacking in Slap Shot clips.

Thus far Slap Shot is the only Newman film I've seen, but I enjoyed his performance very much.

He's my favourite actor and this was my favourite role of his, it's sad to think he's gone. Cheers to a great career of performances, but most especially for Slap Shot. Rest in peace Paul.

Paul Newman stated publicly that the most fun he ever had making a movie was on Slap Shot, as he had played the sport while young and was fascinated by the real players around him. He also said that playing Reggie Dunlop was one of his favorite roles.
