What's the name of the ever-horny hockey player?

What's the name of the Chief who consistently talks about his expeditions with women? You know, the guy who talked about "*beep* the barmaid"? I thought Denis called him Morris while watching the Ice-Stravaganza but that name isn't listed in the credits.

His name in the movie was Wanchuk.....and he was played by Brad Sullivan

Thanks a bunch! :)

Never heard "Wanchuk" in the film but he was..."MO"! One of the funniest with his slimy tongue..."here's to all that SNATCH in F-L-A!"....but Denis had him at the iceshow with a Quebecois accented "you make me sick when you talk, Maurice".
This is an actor you've thought you seen a million times, but his IMDB bio only caught me with the CIA-cubicle agent in "Canadian Bacon"! (he hadn't aged a day in 20 years!)

Actually, "Mo" was played by Brad Sullivan.

Can you believe he came back as 21 years later as Catholic Priest named Father Leo in the short lived ABC series back in 1997 called "Nothing Sacred"??? How strange indeed!!!!!

reply

Brad Sullivan also played Nick Nolte's Father in the "Prince of Tides".

reply

But we don't have to hold that against him.

well said

Who said anyone did??????

For some unknown reason, the character's name was different in the movie compared to the book. I *think* his surname in the book was Saginaw.

reply

He went to Umaine. Waycool

He also played Chief Hillard in "Dead Bang" with Don Johnson in the late 80's.

reply

He also played Brock the guy who got stuck with the fishhook and kept getting punched by Chevy Chase in Funny Farm.

P.S.

As a woman, I thought I should be ashamed for loving that nasty guy, but I'm happy to learn a woman wrote the screenplay. Snatch in FLA, indeed. He just cracks me up!

Sedagive?!!!

he was also on NYPD blue as Patsy Ferrara, bobby simones, father figure, mentor, guardian angel type.

reply

Don't forget he was also one of Al Capone's lieutenants in The Untouchables.

I always thought Hugo Weaving bore a more than slight resemblance to him. Made it kind of interesting to watch The Matrix the first time. "How about that F.L.A. snatch... Mr. Anderson?"

Morris "Mo" Wanchuk was played by character actor Brad Sullivan. Sullivan was best known for The Untouchables (1987), The Sting (1973) and The Abyss (1989). Some of his other feature film credits include The Island (1980); Ghost Story (1981); Tin Men (1987); The Untouchables (1987); Funny Farm (1988); Dead Bang (1989); The Dream Team (1989); The Abyss (1989); Guilty by Suspicion (1991); True Colors (1991), The Prince of Tides (1991); Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit (1993); The Fantasticks (made 1995, released 2000); The Jerky Boys: The Movie (1995); Canadian Bacon (1995); and Bushwhacked (1995). Sullivan saw Slap Shot for the first time decades after its release and was genuinely saddened that he portrayed such a nasty character in the movie and regretted filming it. He retired in 2000 and passed away in 2008 from cancer. He was 77 years old.
