You know your son looks like a F@G to me.....

Possibly the most hilarious and unpredictable line in movie history.... picture you're Paul Newman and you're reading this line off of a script. You're walking out the door. Defeated. And you drop this comment.... F-ing priceless.

"............ you better get re-married again or he's gonna have someone's c**k in his mouth before you can say Jack Robinson" I remember the first time I saw that scene, I fell off the couch laughing so hard. Then it sort of hit me a few seconds later............. Paul Newman just said that! One of the greatest actors in history said one of the most degrading things I had ever heard (up to that point) in a movie. Paul Newman!! Like you said, F-ing priceless!

My jaw drops everytime I watch that entire scene! It's so obscene it's funny! I love it when he says "you're *beep* to the owner.

I read an interview where Paul Newman confessed that after shooting Slap Shot he swore a lot more around the house than he ever did before.

One of the best put downs in the history of cinema. Thanks for reminding me!

Slap Shot is a social commentary. That comedic scene is representation of the constant battles between players and team owners in pro sports.

Stunningly obscene and cutting, but yes, one of the greatest, most unpredictable lines in film. The follow-up is what validates the original insult as he turns her pseudo-psychology back on her with the observation that if she doesn't get remarried, the son will have a cock in his mouth before long. In other words he'll imitate what he sees around him, a feminized world.

Can you picture one of these metro-sexual leading males of today being asked to read this line? Some swish like Matt Damon or George Clooney? They'd get the vapors and have their agent insist that the dialogue be changed. Newman may not have agreed with the sentiment that "Reggie Dunlop" was expressing, but he knew the line was a stunner and he delivered it like a champ.

I miss the days when you could use lines like these!

I still do...I just have more choices now. All of the LGBT freaks provide more of a selection to ridicule and degrade :-)

Stay tuned for the documentary: "From Wheaties to Fruit Loops...the Bruce Jenner story"

The strange thing is that was only four or so years ago. South Park was still using those terms.

I like that boulder. That is a nice boulder.

Movies were so much better before this PC BS.

Eff the three percent of gays out there who would get offended.

Ya there's no way I can see a major movie star in a major movie say those lines today - they'd be called homophobic, ripped to shreds and basically regarded as a terrible human being. And yet I don't think those things could be further from the truth regarding Paul Newman. He's playing a character. It's obscene vulgarity in jest.

Made me crack up laughing.

Trivia: That humorless, strait-laced woman was played by Kathryn Walker -- who was married to folk-rock singing superstar James Taylor for some time, after Carly Simon and before the wife he has now.

I hope she wasn't as cold in real life!
