Salami Coker: what became of him?

He has no Film or TV roles at all after 1977 what happened?

Gonna go out on a limb and say he ended up dead soon after, either that or he never worked in the business again. With a name like Salami Coker, that just might be the case. Google him and you dont get anything. We could make something up. Salami Coker was last seen being transported via blue beam into a U.F.O. and was never seen again. Or Salami Coker married and became house husband while his wife Shelly Duvall went to work.

"Pffft, my suspension of disbelief has higher standards than that"

According to one of the comments on his imdb profile, he met his demise in his homeland of Sierra Leone in 1992. There is nothing anywhere else to verify this though so take it with a pinch of salt.

Everything will be OK in the end, if it aint OK,it aint the end.

He was suspected of being an enemy of the government in Sierra Leone and was executed without trial. Some sources say he was one of 26 people. Another list I've seen has 29 names.

Apparently, the coverup extended to the government trying to claim that, because the people had been shot were denied death certificates, they could not be recognized as dead. The government can't be held accountable for killing people if they're not dead. They're not dead because they're not granted certificates. (Wrap your head around that one.)

It's a very tragic situation. His pregnant girlfriend was apparently with him and shot as well. Coker appears to have been primarily a stage actor and, at some point, a boxer. He was apparently a supporter of people's rights in Sierra Leone and that seems to have been what led to him being targeted by the government.

There was a lot of turbulence in Africa in the 90s and Salami Coker wasn't a top name actor. (At least not in terms of American media. Articles speak of him as if he was better known in the U.K. and in Sierra Leone.) It feels like something which should be more recognized, but I can sadly see how it might get lost. It's still a very shocking and tragic thing to have occurred. And that goes for the other victims as well.
