This movie is so horrible...

...it's hilarious.

No seriously, I really, really f'ing LOVE this film because of how bad it is! In fact, I would go as far as say this is probably one of my favourite movies ever.

I consider this to be far superior to the original Game of Death, which could be extremely dry and dreary far too often, but this one doesn't have one single dull moment in it; there's a lot more fighting than in the '78 film, all of which are quite good on some level, and when there isn't some fighting going on, there's something entertainingly awkward/weird going on to keep my eyes glued to the screen. I think the additions in the American cut (especially the fourth wall breaking flashbacks) only add to the film, and this also happens to be like the only movie I actually prefer watching dubbed rather than subtitled solely because the bad dub only makes the movie even funnier.

Anyone else think Louis is probably the most hilariously over-the-top characters ever? I mean, with the private zoo and raw-meat-eating, the movie tries to portray him so hard as some gigantic badass that it's impossible to take him (or the film) seriously.

I will go so far as to say that this is one of the most atmospherical and mysterious films I have ever watched. Plus, the soundtrack is simply amazing. A pure 7/10.

About halfway through my first viewing I realized that if Jean-Luc Godard had decided to deconstruct kung fu movies instead of musicals ala 'A Woman is a Woman,' the result would look a lot like this and couldn't possibly have been funnier...so what the hell, to my mind it's a brilliant parody and that's all there is to it.

I agree, the American version is where it's at. The stolen, VERY identifiable music, the dubbing, the ridiculous flashbacks (did they seriously not notice all the titles saying stuff like "BRUCE LEE AT AGE 6"?)...it's hysterical. I watched that chunk of the Korean version where it's more straightforward, more competently dubbed and has no Bruce Lee-inserting nonsense, and it just wasn't the same.
