What a great version of the classic 'holed-up' piece; some quality set-pieces, a very real, visceral atmosphere of an old-style, Bangkok Hilton, penitentiary; the always raging undercurrents of anger, lost dreams and being outcasts on the outside; and some excellent acting by the two central characters with an unforgettable line - "Just one thing, your fear of this place stole your spirit...and this.. ain't no pawn shop".
