I saw this movie years ago and the one thing that stands out in my mind was that the VHS copy we rented had a preview for a movie that at the time (I was 12) looked horrifying to me! If anybody has the VHS and knows what previews are on it, I would love to know - I think there was an alligator and a girl in a bloody dress if that helps...but I'm not sure.

If I remember the previews correctly, as it has been quite some time since I watched the VHS copies of this gem, the preview is Tobe Hooper's Eaten Alive, starring Marilyn Burns (of Texas Chainsaw Massacre fame), Roberta Collins, Robert Englund, Mel Ferrer, Stuart Whitman, William Finley, and Carolyn Jones (of the Addams Family fame). It is a great "forgotten film," like Shock Waves. I have the old clamshell VHS of Eaten Alive and it has the preview for Shock Waves on it, so it must be Eaten Alive that you are thinking of.
God, I wish I could see that deleted scene where the remaining shipwrecked group finds Peter Cushing's water-soaked corpse sitting in his chair in his mirrored office, before they lock themselves, temporarily, in the freezer.

Thanks so much! After doing a bit of research I had narrowed it down to a few films - Eaten Alive being one of them so that ends my hunt! I just put it onto my Netflix account so hopefully I'll see it soon.
Shock Waves really freaked me out when I was younger - Nazi's make any movie better!
