How come the film looks so bad?

Pictire quality I mean, would be cool to see a Blu Ray restoration.

"Shock Waves was filmed using Super 16mm and then
transfered to 35mm, while looking superior to other
earlier DVD releases of the film, this version still
displays speckling & excessive grain.
With that said, this version of Shock Waves will
never look better than what is displayed.
The film stock used, was taken from the Director's
private vault collection."

Still looks pretty bad.

It's seemingly just gonna be one of those films that'll never get a good proper scrub up from the original camera negative. A shame.

It’s great the way it is. Not everything has to be scrubbed for tech.

I was just watching this and I thought it Woulda been nice to see Brooke Adams in higher quality though. 😁. IDKY but I was thinking She would have made a much better Lois Lane in Superman than Margot Kidder.
